A friend of mine

This morning I'm gonna post about a good friend of mine. I've known Beth since aboot 1997. both have roots in the hardcore scene far and wide and met thru other friends in the scene. Anyway, years down the road she actually did something most of us (including myself) only talk of, she started her own biz. She opened Anjo studios in Minneapolis a few years back. A photography studio that shoots weddings, bands, stupidity, art, portraits, and whatever else they want. It is also quite damn successful. Bethy is one of only two photographers I actually know with mad skills (the other being J. Bernier), and im not posting about it for my health. The girl has some skills and others should see. look to the right for a link to Anjo studios and below is a sampling.

this one she won an award for

a new bannon print went up for sale at deathwishinc.com

This MASSIVE silkscreened print measures in at a stunning 12"X36" finished size. Comprised of ultra metallic silver and black inks, the print has an intense reflective effect, unlike any other J. New Chueh print?

Tho Lukechueh.com has no word of this, there is an auction on ebay about a new print that will be out by feb. 12.
I will dig more and find out if I can.

"This is a PRE-Sale auction. I will have this print by February 12th. This is an amazing limited edition print. The edition is 150, and is called, MY HAPPINESS IS RIDING ON YOUR MISERY. It measures 18" by 24". Winner will pay $12 shipping in the USA, and $25 everywhere else. Orders shipped in NY State will be charged 8% sale tax. "

Wow this is a shock he said this

It is hard to believe the preds got some respect.
    Barry melrose:
"Now the best TEAM of the first half...no, it's not Anaheim, no it's not Buffalo, it's the Nashville Predators. This team lost the first 3 games of the year, they lost their goalie for a long period of time. What they found out was that Chris Mason is an excellent goaltender, they found out they've got great special teams, they found out they've got the most points of the first half of the season, and I'll tell ya, I would love to go to a Stanley Cup Finals in Nashville. It's a great city, it's a great hockey city now, and the Nashville Predators are fun to watch. They're fast, they score beautiful goals, and they are electric, and awesome about the new rules. So, Nashville Predators, best team in the first half, no doubt about it as far as I'm concerned, and hopefully they will continue in the second half of the season."

Youtube Tuesday with an Asian spin

I was flipping channels this weekend and landed on AZN tv because something caught my eye. First of all i always forget this channel exists. second the next show that caught my eye dealt with worms and i refuse to post that on here.
So anyway, the first think that caught my eye was a "coming up on" spot and i recognized Elizabeth Ito's handywork, so I had to watch. and sure nuff, they did a short spot on some of Elizabeth's animation. I got to see Mr. Monster in action. So that brings the first youtube for this youtube tuesday.

Im so glad i got a subscription to this for my bday last year

"in February 2007, Juxtapoz will introduce two new editorial features. The first will be the "Artist Profiles" section, highlighting 8-10 different artists in each issue. Each selected artist will have a one-page profile that showcases their work and words, in an effort for readers to get acquainted with the artist's style and personality. The other new feature is called "Insider Spotlight,” which profiles a variety of gallery curators and other industry leaders such as agents and art collectors. This new column will provide readers with a closer look at some of top behind-the-scenes players in the industry. "

Sir Peter Thomas Blake (born June 25, 1932) is an English pop artist, best known for his design of the sleeve for The Beatles' album Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band.

    Miyazaki

    Miyazaki news!from http://filmick.blogspot.com/2007/01/i-lost-my-little-boy.html

    "
It has reportedly now been confirmed that the next Ghibli film is Miyazaki's adaption of the Chinese children's novella I Lost my Little Boy, the cover of which you can see above. As far as I can tell, not being able to read the book, the story revolves around a young chap dying from heart disease - but isn't at all downbeat... well, not for most of the page count, anyway.

The oddest thing about the project is that the book is very obviously inspired by Miyazaki's previous films, and, I'm told, even makes mention of Totoro as though he actually exists right at the very top of the first page.

So, to recap: a Chinese author wrote a children's story about dying from heart disease, set it in the same universe as a number of popular Japanese anime (many of which didn't share a universe in the first place) and now, the studio and director responsible for those anime and adapting the book into their next film.

That's the sort of stuff that makes Quentin Tarantino fall over all giddy with excitement."

i wish i had the cash for these

More from the upper playground artist furniture line.
i mean these are well designed. if they do a good size run of these and make them not so wallet ripping, then watch out world
