sxe, books, photography
i need to check out this book. just because!
Ok, in closing what is your ultimate goal with the book?
"The ultimate goal of this book is to be able to share my experience with other people. Not just other straight edge people but anyone who likes photography or is interested in alternative lifestyles. Not everyone will have a chance to travel around and meet a bunch of really different people who all share a common belief. So hopefully this book will be interesting to them. And for the young kid in Mississippi who thinks he or she is different than everyone else maybe this book will show that its ok to be different. And it’s okay to go against flow and live your life differently. For the straight edge people out there I hope this collection of pictures is something they can be proud of. Something they can hold on to and show others and say, “This is my extended family.”

once again
you are a major douchebag if:
1. you wear sunglasses inside and you are not blind
2. you say the word ANNIVERSARY for anything other than a 1 year mile stone.

KMNDZ
I'm really stoked on KMNDZ two person show with Ekundayo at Thinkspace on 10.10.08. I was familiar with his work but not that much. Just seeing pieces in mags here and there, but luckily back in July, Nick and I met him at SDCC. Also known as Johnny Rodriguez, KMNDZ was signing at the hi-fructose booth and I was the first sketch he did with a broken finger! and to my knowledge I think all the paintings at the thinkspace show were done with a broken finger. Super nice guy with great skills (even with bad digits). If i remember correctly, the broken finger came from, damn i dont remember but regardless he is living up to his philosophy of living life and being fully accountable for your actions, because you never wanna push the undo button aka Command + Z.

art collecting types
ahem the rumored secret NYC show on Oct 31
BANKSY AUTHENTICATION
Important information about Banksy Authentication and Pest Control -
Pest Control is the organisation that verifies items created by Banksy.
We catalogue the artists work and hold the only existing records of commercial
sales, as well as a comprehensive library of photographs of Banksy's images
dating back to inception. All works authenticated by Pest Control have been done
so in conjunction with the artist.
Banksy does not provide this service through any other third parties and we
would caution collectors against relying on such bodies.
Pest Control does not authenticate street pieces because Banksy prefers street
work to remain in situ and building owners tend to become irate when their doors
go missing because of a stencil.
Banksy has a casual attitude to copyright and encourages the reproduction of his
work for your own personal amusement, so it's with regret that he finds himself
having to deem pieces either 'real' or 'fake'. He would encourage anyone wanting
to purchase one of his images to do so with extreme caution, but does point out
that many copies are superior in quality to the originals. Since the creation of
Pest Control in January 2008 we have identified 89 street pieces and 137 screen
prints falsely attributed to the artist.
Due to the fact many Banksy pieces are created in an advanced state of
intoxication the authentication process can be lengthy and challenging. We ask
for your patience when using this service.
