Conversations on a cold night

This weekend, I had a long conversation with a friend going thru a divorce. I happend to run into him and it just kinda snowballed to shit from there. The problem os, I friends with both sides. It sucks.
Anyway, the part that got brought up, dude is a good dude and he is heartbroken. He said he was good, but I can see thru people easy. Im not too bad on predicting just not with myself.
Anyway he said something that i admitted to myself years ago and it is total bullshit. You know when someone says "i just want you to be happy". RUBBISH! They do what you to be happy, but they want to be the cause of that happpiness, they want to be a critical element in thahhpiness. Be it to share, bring forth, enjoy, etc.. It is something that is easy to say, but yet such a lie. well...maybe 1 time it wasnt a lie

yeah i woulda like to be part of that happiness too.

Yeah I live less than a mile away from Opry Mills and the large hotel. It was all flooded. I am ok and Ill live. The fam is ok even tho my sis had flooding. The city is fucked but we will carry on. It wasnt over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor and it isnt over now. Im scheduled to volunteer all weekend and kickass there from. Masks, shovels, gloves, hammer, all ready to rock.

Well tonight is the beginning of the real finale of Top Chef Vegas!.
Anyone that knows me, knows I am a fan of odd cooking shows and Top Chef despite my dietary choices that are my own. Last week, my other favorite Jennifer who I call Cut Throat Bitch got sent home for bullshit reasons. She was most def better than one of the brothers! But noooooo I am sure the producers wanted drama between the two brothers for the finale. Because of this, they sent Cut Throat packing. Now I know she started off kickass but then started to crack, she still cooked well and showed a humane non evil side. From the get go tho, I was in the corner of beardface aka Kevin! Dude has skills and well is just damn likable. His place i Atl is organic and sustainable! I tried to go there when I was in Atlanta last but couldnt make it due to time.

Mystery solved

A few people have heard me ponder a conundrum over the past weekend. I also tweeted a few thoughts I guess.
Last Friday, I was heading home from my second home, (the gym) and I saw a weird person going thru the bushes near a McDonalds. This person from behind had several bags and weird things. I quickly blew it off as a homeless person in the burbs. Now this is very odd, since we kinda dont have them in my neck of the woods.
The next morning I leave to go to the gym at 6:45 AM and towards the same area, I see this person again. Upon seeing them from the front this time, I see that this person is a mid 20s female with lots of totes, bags, luggage, and a few jackets. Oh and did I mention she looks like Tina Fey? yeah Tina Fey. So why is this person that isnt dirty or anything hanging out on the sidewalk so early like she is waiting on someone. She seemed to be waiting for a ride?
Here are the conclusions I thought up in my head
1. homeless
2. junkie
3. arrived in town and people arent there yet who staying with
4. stranded traveling
5. doing the walk of shame from an interesting night

Now I was kinda bothered by this, and doubled back to see if she got picked up by her ride and to ask if she needed help. Well she was still there and I chickened out.
Now that same morning I finish my 2 hour workout and head back home. I stop off to get some tea and have a weird feeling weird girl is there. Gut feeling was correct, and at a booth was her bags. At this point I had to know her story since it was bugging the crap out of me. As I walked to ask her if she was ok, she went to the restroom. I waited for 30min for her to come out and she never did. She left all her belongings there, but I had to go, so out I went.
Ill skip ahead and say I saw her another time munching on chips one night.
Last night after the Preds game, I decided to give it another shot. Stopped off for tea at the same joint once again and as my gut would have it, her luggage was there. Once again she was in the restroom (i guess washing up forever). I waited and she came out and I think she stole some dudes food but saw that I saw her. She then gave me the evil eye. I dont think Tina Fey girl likes me because she kept giving me the stink eye. She grabbed her multitude of bags and was trying to leave but one piece of luggage was really heavy, and I offered to help her carry it. Well she gave me the "piss off" look again. out she went. Well I tried!
As I was leaving a couple came in looking for. I told her them she just left. After chatting it up with them for a bit I finally found out what this weird Tina Fey lookalike was up to. Yup homeless and those were some of her relatives. She refused help from them and she has some mental issues. At least my curiosity has now been satisfied.

First up a couple movies im stoked to see for two different reasons.
1. Ninja Assasin. Any kid growing up in the 80s probably remembers the really crappy tv show American Ninja and the Ninja magazine you look thru at the grocery store. Well at least I do. Loved both, so a Ninja movie makes me nostalgic

So, I’m Nick Valentino. I wrote the Steampunk novel Thomas Riley, an adventure tale of two weapons designers and scientists that are forced to venture into enemy lands to undo some bad alchemy. During their journey, they encounter everything from sky pirates, enemy troops, a twisted alchemy master and even an ornery bartender.

In keeping with the spirit of Inert Nashville, I’m going with something extra that I do for fans of the book and the genre. On the Thomas Riley website, you can sign up for free to be a Sky Pirate. 1) It’s free. 2) It will get you discounts and get you into exclusive contests for Sky Pirates only. Yes, you will get the occasional email but I won’t ever spam you or give your information out to anyone… EVER.
My point is, when you sign up to be a Sky Pirate, you’ll get Enlistment Papers and Flight Credentials in the mail. I make these puppies by hand so yeah it takes a while, but it’s not only worth it, it’s actually pretty fun.

So, want a crash course on Tea Staining Enlistment Papers? (Or any papers for that matter?) Here ya go:

1) Heat up some tea. (I use 4+ bags) Preferably some kind of black tea. Let it sit for a good hour so it has time to brew. Fold your paper to get some nice creases in it.

2) Put multiple folded papers in the warm tea. Make sure they are not floating.

3) Try weighting your paper down with tea bags. Then let sit for at least 30 minutes. If you want to add extra staining, but a fresh tea bag on top of the paper and it will make more marks on the finished product.

4) Take the paper out, unfold and place on a flat surface. (The little folds are ok as they make nifty marks in the drying process.)

5) Get a hair dryer and dry that puppy. This only takes about 3-4 minutes per page. Dry until the paper is wrinkled and crispy.

6) Voila! You have hand done tea stained papers ready for proof of your piracy.

Veg Top Chef FAIL

Ok I am a fan of Top Chef and I do love Natalie Portman, but this episode left me blah. NAtalie is an off again on again vegan, so I was stoked she might bring a vegan challenge. Alas, she is just veg now and not vegan. The last 7 contestants got thrown a curveball that Ive been wanting for every season (yes I missed watching masters with a vegan challenge).
Well, lets just say I was unimpressed with the chefs!!!! I mean most of that crap did look like a frozen meal I could get at whole foods. I know they didnt have any tofu, wheat gluten, ot tempeh, or anything to work with but wow. Kevin was the only one that brought some game to it. Ive eaten at some of the top chef contestant establishments before and requested my vegan meal, and guess what, it blew these apart!!! Just odd how uninspiring the dishes were.
Also, I will never support Eli since i am scum according to him "vegetarians are lower human beings". FUCK YOU you ignorant bloodmouth!
The best part of the show was Natalie. She is a well known dork and perv and it came thru and made me laugh actually. She was all gitty on banana polenta!

for some dumbass reason Morningstar farms changed the ingredients to their awesome veg crumbles that i make tacos and sloppy joes and all kinds of crap with. well not they are not vegan. BIG FAIL MORNINGSTAR. alot of fellow vegans and health nuts are pretty damn pissed aboot this.

Ok So I finally got the chance to ask Chris Lee at RollerDerby this weekend aboot a rumor I had heard and well it is TRUE!!! he is in cahoots to build a FULL SCALE millenium falcon!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! he got a farm an hour or so outside Nashville and has all the plans to scale!!! he has tv companies wanting to do a documentary on the project!!! holy cow this would rule!!!! and I wanna sleep in it!
